WISBECH Town are to put up new floodlights at Outwell in time for their switch to the ground next month after a dispute over the removal of the old lights at Fenland Park.
It had been planned to take the Fenland Park lights down and ferry them to Outwell and leave them there for Outwell Swifts' use at the end of the season.
But a dispute has arisen over the method of the removal of the lights between Wisbech Town and Purple Properties, the purchasers of Fenland Park.
A spokesman for Purple Properties said: "We bought the ground and fixtures and fittings and the floodlights are included.
"We are quite happy for Wisbech Town to take the floodlights but we have asked them to let us know the method they will use to remove them.
"There are health and safety issues and we need to make sure that there are no dangers if they come and just hack off the pylons.
"Over the last three years we have bent over backwards to help Wisbech Town and we just want some clarity on this issue.
"We would have liked them to stay until the end of the season, but it seems they are moving out in September."
Wisbech chairman Barry Carter commented: "We have insurance covering the lights at Fenland Park and assurances from the crane driver removing the lights which have been sent to Purple Properties.
"We have already made plans to purchase the new lights, but if we can take the old ones we will take them."
Wisbech will put up the new lights at Outwell on a temporary basis and they will be removed with the stand being erected once they move to the new ground on Kings Lynn Road.
The club had the option of remaining at Fenland Park for the whole of this season but a rent in the region of £80,000 for the campaign ruled that out and, after September 10, they will play all their home games at Outwell with the reserves in action at Barton Road.
The purchase of the new ground should be completed this week after the crop on the ground was harvested last week.
Soil tests are to be taken on the ground tomorrow and pegs will then be put down to mark out the ground as well.
