March Town manager Brett Whaley is hoping to sign former Wisbech Town and Spalding winger Davy Shepherd in time for Saturday's Ridgeons Division One game at Diss Town.
Shepherd, an 18-year-old, figured in the Wisbech first team squad at the end of last season and was also in the LIncolnshire youth team.

Whaley said: "I am hopeful he will sign this week and will be a good addition to the squad."

March have been hit with injuries to striker Andy Wayte, who is out with a groin injury, and his replacement Lee White, who limped off in Saturday's FA Cup game at haverhill.

Luke Weston was recalled to the squad against Haverhill for last night's replay but Denny Escorio will be missing on Saturday because of a holiday.

Whaley expects a tough game at Diss on Saturday and added: "They were favourites for promotion before the start of the season but have not had a good start. They have money to spend and have brought in new players and will be keen to improve in front of their own fans.

"It will be a difficult game but if we get a good result against Haverhill in the replay we should go with plenty of confidence."
